While war may bring out the worst in both humanity and the world around us, some try to find beauty in the darkest of times. Oleska Koba is one of those incredible few. Discovering his special talent in painting, Koba uses his art to depict Ukraine as he currently sees it - with most of his art being painted while at the front. Through the help of friends living in Scotland, Koba was able to exhibit his work at the Edinburgh Fringe in the summer of 2023. Continuing with my Ukraine series, this aricle focuses on the Jeeps for Peace volunteers as they visited the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv, as part of their convoy to deliver supplies and aid vehicles to the Ukrainian military. The convoy take this solemn moment to give their respects the true victims of the Ukranian war - the dead.
